Please start by reading the profile in Issue 15 of ZASA Magazine to understand the context of this post, it is supplementary material. You can download the magazine for free here.

He is a Zambian rapper that spent a lot of his time outside his country – a great thing for him because he got exposed to different cultures that can be heard in his music.

Chanda Mbao had a great conversation with Chromez on a podcast episode (link below) where he says he doesn’t swear in his music because his family listens to it and he doesn’t want it to be a part of his legacy.

He blew up in a way that made it seem like it was overnight success, which has affected him in both positive and negative ways.

Chanda Mbao grew up with a single mom and explained how that shaped the person he is today.

He also talked about how his accent has affected the way people treat him, especially the gate keepers.
